Grant has over 20 years experience in consulting, team leadership and development.
He provides organizations with a strategic vision in web-based and desktop-based
software, such as interactive websites and applications, statistical dashboards,
social networking, and content managed applications. Grant is currently focused on Rich Internet applications that use technologies like Flex, Flash, Rich Media, JAVA, and .NET. He architects using
UML with Enterprise Architect
Grant has produced solutions for numerous organizations, including Sprint, CNN, Norfolk Southern
Rail Road, Kids AOL, Merrill Lynch, Multicast Media, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra,
Chastain Park, Danske, RoboBank International, Woodruff Arts Center, Timberland,
Reebok, Kimberly Clark, National Rifle Association, Ford, and The Atlanta Falcons.
Grant started work in the financial sector in the United Kingdom, architecting,
developing and deploying Futures and Arbitrage Software across Europe for large
banking clients. Grant is a natural software architect with the ability to see patterns
in the chaos and has a uncanny ability to breakdown, simplify and integrate the
most complex systems. Grant spent the 90's architecting C++ and later J2EE architectures
for fortune 500's to provide solutions like trouble ticket management and security
management.
In the late 90's he picked up flash which he immediately saw as the solution to
rich client applications. Grant is unique in his ability to develop for interactive
websites and applications in Flex and Flash that feature rich interaction and animation
driven by content management systems. Grant has decades of traditional software
development in JAVA J2EE, PHP and C++, this enables Grant to understand both the
client and server tiers which uniquely qualifies Grant to design and architect solutions
that cover the enterprise.
Grant released aprx, and model view controller framework extension to the
open source community in 2005 which is still in use today and featured on the OSflash
website. Grant was also the co-author of fling,
a asset management system which was also released to the open source community via
OSflash. After a few years developing flex and flash using Cairngorm, Grant currently favors Puremvc as the design pattern for model view controller
pattern for desktop and webbased software
Grants real strength is architecture and the ability to integrate systems, websites
no longer live in a vaccum but are a collaboration of systems like social networking,
security, user data, marketing and user behavior tracking, Having over 20 years
implementing solutions as a consultant, he can now bring this experience to small
and medium size organizations.
Grant is a certified Sitecore
developer, and has a Bachelors Degree with Honors in Computer Science from the University
of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom.
